| Well I finally went paint balling today with some friends. I had a great time with the new gear I bought (barrel, cyclone feed) And now, I'm looking to the next upgrade. I have a few questions regarding the E-Trigger system. 1: Is it worth it? 2: How does the selection between semi, burst and auto work? 3: Is it easy to install? 4: How long is the battery life? 5: If it runs out of battery will my marker just switch back to mechanical? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Lone | |

| It is worth having. Switching between modes takes a allen key as the board is inside of the grip. But there really is no need to switch in game, pick a mode and go with it.
If your battery dies in game, the marker will not work, just use fresh batteries. Another thing you can do is move the battery from the grip into the magazine. Just takes some extra wire and a dremel tool to make a channel for the wire.
It is super easy to install, take all of 10 minutes.
Batteries would last me about a day and a half at a weekend long scenario game. I just bought 2 rechargable 9V batteries. I would use a fresh one each day just to be sure.
I would get the APE board over the standarn Tippmann one since it has more modes and can be programed easier. My favorite mode was reactive. It fores 1 round when you pull the trigger, and 1 round when you release the trigger. You could do a quick 2 shot burst on someone, and if you needed to you could lay down just as much paint as full auto. Easily kept up with the electro markers with that mode.

It's been hard to get responses here lately. I guess I was unrealistically hoping to have an easy selector switch like an AR. So when switching modes I just have to remove some kind of grip panel? Also are the modes labeled on the inside?

| If you look at the front of your grip, there are 2 small holes. Your grip panels may or may not have the holes cut out depending on how old the marker is, but the metal part of the grips will. The top hole is were you would see a light which will show you what mode you are in, and if the etrigger is on. the lower hole you would stick a allen key into to turn it on and off, and switch between modes.
A mod some of us have done for the etrigger is to get a spare parts kit for the marker. It will come with lots of spare parts, orings, pins, etc. It comes with an extra trigger pin. Take that and wrap it with electrical tape a couple of times and stick it in the lower hole. You'll have to experiment with how much tape to use, but once you get it right it will stay in place, while still allowing you to change between modes on the fly. I mainly used it to turn the board on and off between games to save on battery life, but it can be used to switch modes just as easily.

Not that I'd really need to switch modes all the time, it would just be a good feature to have. Ha, already trying to mod a piece of gear I don't have...
