| I've always used 98 customs, as I love the simplicity of Tippmann's, but have found myself wanting something a bit more authentic looking. I was going to mod my current 98c, but then I got to looking at the salvos and realized it was pretty much the exact look I was going for. Then one of the managers a my work mentioned he was selling his, it has been played eight times, including once by myself, and is in like new condition except that the U.S. Army sticker is peeling. The plan is to paint it OD green, add a foregrip with a built in bipod, e-grip with an ape board, an alpha black stock, and possibly a red dot sight. That's the plan anyways, we'll see what actually happens. What it looks like now: Kind of the look I'm going for: The original image was posted by The_Watchman on 98og

| Welcome aboard mate. Theres tonnes of great advice and great guys on here to help with your modding and painting questions. Looks like you'll probably already be familiar with the internals of your Salvo then too. Check out the gallerys too for inspiration. I was going to mention Casper's OD green Salvo, but it looks like he bet me too it. Have fun modding it and don't forget to keep us updated. And if you haven't already, don't forget to join us on Facebook too. LINK | |

| Welcome blue! If you don't already have an ape board...you will love it over the stock tippmann board. Let me know if you have questions about it...I think I do have videos and how to set it up somewhere. | |

| Thanks for the welcome guys. Don't worry about the marker pron, I like to show off my work, even if the responses are negative. As far as the e-trigger, the marker doesn't have the Tippmann board, I'm going straight for the APE one, so I may be hitting you up syclops. |

| That one isn't mine, the first one is mine, the second is one that a member on 98og posted that I PS'ed to show the basics of what I'm going for. Sorry about the confusion. |

| Until Christmas comes I am only doing DIY stuff to the marker as paintball stuff makes up a good portion of my list. So going with that tonight I pulled the U.S. Army and Project Salvo stickers, and put heat shrink over the air line as it was the only silver bit left on the exterior of the marker. Next up is filling the depressions left and paint. I only got one picture of this since it's not too exciting: |

| I'm not going paintballing tomorrow so I thought what better time to paint it. Depressions filled: All taped up and sanded: My weapons of choice: |

| I got it al painted up today. The undercoating was used to texturize the left clam shell since I filled the depressions, the texture isn't an exact match, but you only notice if you flip the marker over and look at both sides back to back. All the pieces hanging up drying: And the finished product: Also took the time to make a ghetto pod loader: |

| The ghetto loader was just a bit too ghetto for me, with all of the folgers stuff still showing. So I stopped by walmart on the way home tonight and picked up some duct tape as I wasn't sure paint would hold up too well. I wanted OD tape, but they didn't have any, but they did have digital camo: |

| Not directly related to my marker, but when I originally bought my mask I loved how flashy it was. Now I have come to regret that, so I took care of that, and made a remote line cover. What the mask looked like: And what it looks like now, and the cover: |

| Looks sweet and sling looks the bis too. Are you going to test fire a few shots and sight it in?? | |

| Thank you. And yes I do plan on sighting it in, but there's a few more things I need to get before I get to that point. From what I've read, the best point to sight it in to is where the ball starts to arc significantly. Am I correct? |

| The distance to sight it in to completley depends on your preference. You want to do it at the average range that you'd actually get someone. So I'd say approx 50-70 metres-ish. Remember it's not going to be perfectly accurate on every single shot along as it goes near. Tight groupings is what your after. And it definetly adds the tacticool factor. | |
