I know a bunch of you guys have had or own Tippmann A5s and I was wondering what you're thoughts are comparing the two. It would be a basic A5 with a car stock v the salvo with a cyclone. Just curious on how they stack up

I keep my A5 small (no stock) but when I want a bigger marker I do end up grabbing my AB. I do wish my AB wasn't bone stock though. My brother has a really nice 98C that he is taking his Response Trigger and Cyclone off to put on his Salvo. He doesn't like how small my A5 is though. I guess its up to how you likw to play. I don't mind the bigger/heavier markers but my A5 already has a cyclone and a decent RT. I seem more agile and play more aggressively. Who knows really if my AB had some more upgrades to it.

well basic a5 already has the cyclone out of the box...and the salvo with a cyclone...performance wise..they are pretty much identical....the internals are pretty much identical except for the powertube/tombstone combo

So if I slap a cyclone on my salvo it would basically be just as good as the A5?

Both are great markers, completly depends on preference.
A5's a sweet milsim CQB marker.
And the Salvo has abit more meat on its bones.
And the quad rail shroud is a big plus too if your wanting a tonne of attachments on.
Love my Salvo.

Dunk I'm thinking about getting a stock similar to the alpha black's since it brings me closer to the gun. But that would be after throwing on a cyclone feeder and a flasc micro bore barrel with an adapter for my apex. I guess it would be a little bit easier to maintain one main gun then two

pretty much...an A5 really is just a "glorified" 98...you can do more external mods to it ie ak47, mp5 and so on

Air force. I'll probably try to get into security forces or Tactical Air Control Party (TACP). Not completely sure yet

I like my A5, but not as much as my salvo. My A5 is set up to be compact(bullpup). It really depends on your feel but if you like big guns just get your salvo a cyclone.

The only problem I do have with the salvo is when I get into the bushed I sometimes get caught up with the longer barrel. I think I just feel left behind while most of the people I run with have little axes

Well you can get shorter barrels n stocks n that for the Salvo too.
They're easy to 'CQB up'.
Salvo's give you that choice & if you wanna go big, you can just stick the standard shroud back on... Very Happy

Yea dunk I think what I'm going to do is get a rap4 car stock off of amazon because they're like 15 bucks or something and since I'm getting a flasc kit I'll probably only make my barrel 12.5-13 inches unless I want to put the apex adaptor on it.
You know any way to make it quieter other than porting? The apex barrel makes it so loud everyone knows it's me when I fire

Surely that's a good thing, if everyone can tell its you? scratch
Then they'll be avoiding going for the guy with the BA marker.
And if it makes em go for you more, then just say "bring it".

Isn't it better to be a little unique, even if it is just how your marker sounds?
If it's louder, the other guys will be thinking that it's more powerful than there's or something?

Well the only reason I want it semi quieter is because I'm going play in September with a former Navy Seal, i think a recon Marine, and another marine. So I don't want to be the guy to give away our position with loud fire.
I do agree that loud fire does intimidate people that's why I'm still on the fence about getting the dishka tip. Flasc said on their website that you shouldn't fire by people's heads because it could result in slight loss of hearing? scratch

The whole team has axes. I was thinking about ordering the kit last night with a cannonizer and go wild but when I went to place my order it wasn't in stock... I figured since the apex adaptor for the apex two has porting inside the apex it will probably quiet it down. So might as well also have something loud.
I did hear however that putting pipe insulation in the open spaces of the shroud will quiet it down some. I may look into that
