Ok so I made a silencer a few months back but thought it looked akward
with just the stock barrel. So rumaging around yesterday I found an old
Light Saber...yes the same Light Saber the Jedi's use, that my boys
had. It did'nt light up anymore and the plastic "saber" was bent from
whacking each other so many times. Can you say INNOVATION?
So I broke out the old dremel and die cut off grinder and went to work.
Materials:
1) 1.5 inch plastic plumging - 6" long
2) 2 plugs (also in the plumbing section) to cap the ends.
3) Dremel or something to cut a 1" hole through each plug (centered)
4) Hot glue or adhesive that will adhere the plugs into the pipe.
5) your son's or your friend's son's or some random kids light saber. Just don't try to steal one from a real Jedi!
6) oh...and flat black paint!
Do a search...someone has good pictures how to do this.
Basically
hollow out each plug and hollow out the light saber internals. Make
sure everything is centered. A tighter fit is better so it will hold in
the end. Test fit several times to sand away/cut away material. If it
does end up a little sloppy use some black electrical tape to wrap the
barrel to tighten it up.
I had to take out electronics and used
the dremel with a sanding bit to take down plastic and anything in the
way to get the barrel through the saber. Next use anything that will
fine-ly cut the light saber in the precisly measured out location. Cut
it!
I used hot glue to adhere the silencer to the saber piece:
Then applied several coats of flat black..let me know what you think! In all I think I spent around $6.00:
The SWAT Silencer/Shroud will be used for indoor Reball...I little bit
lighter than the tactical shroud and notice there is no front sight to
get in the way.
MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!
