V-Force Grills Strap Transplant

Hey gents!

Well I recently went on the hunt for a new strap for me Grills only to find that the replacement strap was expensive compared to the V-Force Profiler ($20.00 as opposed to $12.00 with shipping). So I thought...if the clip doesn't work on the new strap I'll just remove it and transplant it on the original grills clips. This can be done with any strap:

Things I used:
craft glue
scissors
needle and thread
razor blade



First - cut the old strap off your clips and gently, cut away the stitching on the new strap using a razor blade:


Next, I looped the clips on and used fabric glue to tac the ends. I used some office clips to hold them down for awhile:


This is what its looking like so far:


I saved the old clips for any other project:


Then I used a needle and thread to stitch a double row/double stitch...this is going no where!

I just couldn't see spending $20 on the strap alone when the Profiler strap is exactly the same except the clips that clip on to the mask. I can spend that coin somewhere else now! :)

The old strap was pretty nasty...cant wait to try it on now!

i like my profiler,.. could really use that fan tho,..

Brock the fan thing is sooo easy! Not sure with the Profiler if there is a good way to mount a CPU fan that size. I do know they have microfans that would fit in the profiler. I would almost pout two in there...one that draws fresh air and one that pushes stale air out.

I think I may have to put some new foam inserts in so the mask is brand new!

Question.....is there a way to fit 2 straps to a grill or does anyone know if you can get dual straps for it?
Cos it can jiggle around a wee bit when running & I think a dual strap would be a good idea

You would have to modify a strap from a sly profit...i bet it could be done.
