Tippmann Model 98 upgrades? Will 98C upgrades work?

As some of you may know, but some of you don't, I recently got a Tippmann Model 98. Now I want to upgrade it, but it looks as if some of the internals are a bit different than my Alpha Black, and I tried installing a stock, but it wouldn't quite fit.

SO what kind of upgrades can I get for it? Thanks .

two differnt markers
internals are a bit differnt but pretty much the same
so most stuff for the 98c will not fit on the m98
that is the first 98 marker so finding add ons wont be as easy

Ahh alright, will the 98C expansion chamber work on it? Because I use CO2 for backyard fun, and that's what it will mostly be used for....

Those upgrades will work....but..

for #2...why spend the 11bux when you can use an allen key to lower or raise the velocity...
for #3...its nice but you still need to get a vertical adapter and how much total..i'm guessing at least 50bux...my opinion save the money for more useful mods :)

#2 I don't have the correct sized allen key on hand ever....like really ever.
#3 I know, I might just get the other version that comes with everything and is cheaper, I need it because I am mostly going to use CO2 on this thing and it just doesn't let the gas expand enough to shoot well. It doesn't always recock......with a full tank.....

1) use your money for a complete allen key set
2)remote coil for a cheap expansion chamber.....

What arson said.....an Allen key wrench set will cost almost as much as that silly velocity turn knob thing lol

Cost me 3 whole pounds for my set.
And it's got a full set of imperial & metric allen keys on it.
A tool for every eventuallity.
Use em alot on my bike too.

And some reppage for my mate Arson.

Did you end up buying the side velocity adjuster? I bought one a long time ago and it doesn't work as well as they said it would. The wing part gets stuck against the receiver and I am not allowed to use it at the other field I play at.

Hey David, here's an idea for a use for that 98...if you're going to play scenario games, especially ones like D-Day that have tanks and you're going into a tank buster unit (like the 899th Blackcats at D-Day) check the forums for D-Day and there's a how to of how to turn just about any paintball gun into an approved Anti-Tank weapon design...

If you go on the D-Day Adventure Park site, you can go into the forums and look up the thread for the 899th Tank Destroyers (Black Cats) and you should be able to find something, if not there should be something in the AT forum on there...

Hmm, not sure about that one. I usually just buy upgrades made for my AB, ie: A stock that says it will work for the 98/AB/PS/whatever...I would get.

I think you should consider P90-ing it up Dave.
Or turning it into a MP5K/AK74 or other cool CQB marker.

I'm thinking about it, I really don't need to keep it together so why not. My 98 is having a bit of a problem though, it messes up when it shoots sometimes, need to experiment with it.

Stay away from the flatline, its picky on paint and has a VERY distinct fire signal
so if you play with your friends alot.....they will know where you are before you see them

Apex2 gives you the flatline setting plus many others, I like options on my gear
and this has tons of them!

I will have to admit the apex2 is pretty amazing. I would prefer it over the flatline solely because it has more options like arson said.
