| A thread for us to post pics of the gloves we wear on the feild. Any recommendations we may have on protection & price etc..... And cos I finally got round to taking a pic of mine, for David. So here you go, These are my "BALL-X" Carbon gloves with rubber finger protection & nice inner hand cushioning. I think there meant for airsoft actually, but work good for me. I've used these twice on the feild since getting em & they're still good. Cost me a whole £10 big ones. Use em on my bike too sometimes. | |

| I use these. Been shot pretty much point blank (probably 5 feet away) in the thumb. Stung like heck for about 2 min, but no damage to my hand. |

| Leather palm and even/tight fit make it feel very streamlined. Good compromise since I like fingerless but my hand gets shot more often than not. |

| I'm liking the Mechanix gloves! I used to use those but were more than what I wanted to pay...thus I went to Home Depot and found these for $9.99. Nice padded palm and great finger/hand protection and they breathe very well! | |

| Getting hit in the hand bl**dy hurts. It's worth the investment in a pair of well protected, comfy 'ones. Gotta protect that trigger finger. Can't forget the "cool factor" too. 8) | |

| Managed to get my glove review form the old forum!!! So I was looking into tactical gloves and tried many makes'n'models without any satisfaction...Oakleys (genuine and repros), 5.11 Tactical, Blackhawk, Condor and some more... Only one brand got me through hell'n'back all the time and it was Mechanix gloves, no matter what I'd do I would always go back to that brand and beat the heck out of them without any problems...I browsed around on there website and found the tactical serie, looked further in and found the TAA M-Pact 3. At 73$ Can. a pair I wasn't so sure about testing them out even if I knew that they'd be tough enought. Then came the revelation!!!, bought one pair and here we are now for the review part! So this will be a "out of the box review", a field test will follow in the next month or two. First look: Very impressed by the craftsmanship, inner portion of the glove is double stiched, the knuckle protector (Molded Kevlar) is held with two rows of double stiching, full leather inner with a nice thick pad on the lower palm portion, leather finger tip, velcro strap for a good tight fit on the wrist. Test fit: Again, very impressed by the comfort and specialy for the wrists where some other gloves (like the Oakley and Condor) tend to cause friction and irratation after a long period wearing them. Also pretty lightweight for such a heavy duty glove and yet a pretty good dexterity and breathability. I tried doing pretty much all I would do during a paintball game and nothing seemed to be causing problems at all. The Score:-Comfort: 9/10 (Fingers are bit big on the diameter but not so bad) -Weight: 10/10 (For such a heavy duty glove, 2oz per glove is a joke!) -Dexterity: 8/10 (You will be able to fell most but when you get to small items...I does get a bit problematic) -Handling: 9/10 (If I managed to type a part of this review wearing them, I think I'm safe ) Overall score: 9/10 I'm looking forward to testing out those gloves on the field!!! I will review them with a field test review in a month or two and give you guys a more detailed analyse once I tested them out to the max. Hope you like my review and looking forward to answer your questions, Capt. Shadow out. | |
