| Not sure about the plastic parts, I just painted over the old paint, but to take the paint off the receivers you can use Aircraft Remover. Never used it, but it's some good stuff. | |

| Sand it nice & smooth too for a good surface for the new paint to stick to. It'll help removing the old paint too. | |

| What will work weel to is a wire wheel. Just make sure it's a brass one or it will chew the metal up. Go slow and deliberate, take your time. | |

| odd that there was a chemical reaction....did you spray a heavy coat first?...usually its like several light coats ( i go super light) and allow each coat about 30mins to an hr to dry...
aircraft paint remover when applied to metal will actually "peel" the factory paint off... | |

| I know when i used a heavy coat when i was painting noob it actually "lifted" or cracked the existing paint...that why i asked if he had used a heavy coat fist while repainting the plastic parts | |

| usually its the propellant that causes the cracking me thinks...altho when i mixed krylon with rustoleum it never turns out (cracking peeling)...so far the valspar/krylon mix has worked pretty good | |

| I use a great product called Citri-Strip. It has the consistency of a paste/goop, creates no harmful odors and works on both metal and plastic without ruining the base material. Spread it on with a brush, let it sit for a few hours and then scrape with a wire brush or a plastic scraper. |

| Try Aluma-hyde2? Gives a very nice, tough finish & works well on plastic too. Apparentley | |
