CP Barrel experience? Empty
PostSubject: CP Barrel experience?   CP Barrel experience? EmptyWed Oct 30, 2013 6:23 pm

Anybody ever use any of the CP Advantage or CP classic barrels?

A lot of good review for them, but the reviews are pretty vague.

I was looking at picking one up in a .685 x 14" version to try on my son's A5. The local field paint as well as the Draxxus I use in my AB just falls through his current .687 Bigshot (falls through my J&J as well, but still shoots well). I figure he's already got a .687 and .690 barrel, why not add a .685 to the mix? At $33 including shipping, it's considerably less than a lot of others where I can specify the exact diameter.

Coudn't resist and ordered a 14" .685 barrel for my ABE and my son's A5. I'll haveĀ them just in time to bring out to "Grandma and Grandpa's" place in the country for Thanksgiving and have some good old fashioned shootouts with the family.

You'd have been happy with either of those barrels. CP make some great kit.

I've been using the 12" CP classic, .685 with cheap draxxus paint this spring and summer. It's been working fantastic.

When I first got the barrel, I took it out in the yard in January and couldn't blow a paintball through it, at all. I figured it was too tight. I screwed it on and fired a dozen and they corkscrewed unbelievably.

Now, it runs beautifully. Maybe hadĀ  a film of some sort in it originally? I run it at ~285 fps with draxxus professional and/or midnight and it shoots unbelievably consistent with very little curving.

I had to make a new shroud to fit the new barrel since it's longer and shaped a little different. I did a better job on that as well so it's easier to get on and off.
