Air leaking, help appreciated. Empty
PostSubject: Air leaking, help appreciated.   Air leaking, help appreciated. EmptyTue Jan 22, 2013 2:00 pm

So, recently, I "finished" a mod I've been working on (on and off) since just after Christmas. I made a super ghetto version of a M1 (thanks for the help Arson). Pics are soon to come, but I have one problem that I can't seem to fix. The steel braided hose doesn't want to seal into the threads of the gun and I'm losing a lot of air. I've tried teflon tape at different quantities, and I'm going to try blue loctite this weekend (no markers allowed on campus, so I only get her on the weekends). I just don't know what else to try besides replacing the valve/powertube. Any ideas/comments?

Check the threads on the hose and powertube. If they look good, then Loctite should fix the leak. If not, see if you can pinpoint were the leak is coming from.

I have in the past gone so far as to take the powertube out of the marker and air it up, then dip it underwater so I could find the exact point of the leak. For me, it was a damaged valve.

I've had the same thing happen...damaged valve due to over tightening.

Mine had been cross threaded by a previous owner. Then he loctited it so I had no way of knowing till I tried modding it and took it apart.

Thanks, guys. I've checked on other forums (98og, pbnation, etc) and I think I've got a pretty good checklist to find the problem. I can't wait to get home and get it working. Thanks, again!
