SIR Handguard problems

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum (and to paintball) and just recently purchased the Dboys SIR handguard for my project salvo.
I've read the how to posted in the forum, but I am having trouble fitting the shroud over the rails.
It appears that the rails on the project salvo are too wide.
Was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem, and what my options might be.
Apologies if this is a noob question, but I really appreciate any feedback, Thanks in advance!

In case it's not clear, thats as far as I can put the shroud on before it gets stuck.

I think Storm has had experience with the Dboys shroud and should be able to help you you. He is a modification expert so you will be in good hands. If he dosn't answer this post them Private Message (PM) him. He is always willing to lend an eye...or an ear...or just about any body part really! HAHAAA!

looks like the SIR needs to move forward one rail...it wont fit tight up against the receiver....i remedied it by adding a delta ring to my salvo


or you can modify the sir to fit

Ok great thanks! Would any delta ring work? Or do you have any recommendations?
Sorry one more question, what would it take to modify the shroud to fit?

as long as the delta ring fits around the barrel...i think it comes in either 1" or 7/8...you might have to measure the outer diameter of the barrel to be sure...Modifing it would probably require some grinding or sanding of the SIR shroud to get it to fit snug against the salvo...i opted not to do this in case i want to sell the shroud :)

As you can see with my SIR..it doesnt fit tight...adding the delta ring makes the whole setup look way better than without

Thanks so much for your help, I think I'll opt for the delta ring. Maybe one day if I'm ever feeling courageous I'll try modding the shroud to fit, but I'm too afraid of messing something up at the moment haha. Thanks again!
