Cancer strikes 18 people in my wifes building in a year and a half?

Friday night, my Wife gets a call from one of her former co workers that she is still good friends with. Says that she needs to watch the news that night, and that she had seen something about the building the she used to work in on the news. So we recorded the news that night at 11. This is what came on:

Cliff notes:

17 people who all work together on the 1st floor of this building were diagnosed with various forms of cancer, all within a year and a half. 5 of those have died from cancer. My Wife worked on the 2nd and 3rd floors of that building in 2010 and 2011. She was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma in Feb 2012. She will make 18 people within a year and a half. My Wife was no longer working there at the time she was diagnosed, so she knew nothing about the Investigation into this until the story aired.

We have contacted the news station, and are awaiting a call back tomorrow. We are also going to go by her old office building tomorrow to talk to the people on the 1st floor about this.

I'm not sure what it could be causing this, but something is definitely going on there.

Exactly. That many people getting sick in that short of a period of time can't be a coincidence.

That's terrible. Enough people get cancer with no apparent cause, but a building's negligence is sickening.

Id quit if i heard that was going on. like immediately

So what have the building owners said about it?

They are going to run a gambit of tests there. Including Radon gas, and Asbestos testing. It's gonna take a while for the tests to come back.

I did a lead test on the paint, and it was negative.
