Light the night walk for Leukemia / Lymphoma

Many of you know, some may not, but my Wife has been battling Lymphoma (cancer) all year. It has been a tough fight, but it is also one that will be over soon, and she will transition to survivor instead of patient. There is a local Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Light the Night Walk coming up on Nov 3, 2012. My wife wants to do this walk, as she will finish her treatments the week before. We have registered for the walk. She has a team page set up were you can go and donate fund for the cause. There is no minimum to donate, and every little bit helps. The L&L Society has helped us out quite a bit since my Wife was diagnosed. They helped pay her co pays, they even paid our rent one month when she was first diagnosed.

Glad your wifes getting over it mate.
My brother in-law has recently been given the all clear on his throat cancer too.
His chemo worked and they didn't have to operate.
I would donate if I could, but my accounts in the negative as per usual.
Keep us updated on the day and how she did too.

No worries on not being able to donate. It'd be nice if we meet or goal, but I'm more wanting to do the walk so she can do something as a survivor. It'll be an emotional day for us all.

Tuf I am glad that she is doing better. I will do what I can to help out. I have done a few relay for lifes before and all good causes.

I am really looking forward to this one. She is technically in remission now, but she doesn't feel like it cause she is still getting treatments.

Don't know if you guys watch Parenthood or not. One of the characters on there got breast cancer last week. We sat and watched that together the other day, brought back a lot of memories from the last year, like how scared she was in the beginning. My Dad died from Lymphoma 6 years ago, and that was all she could think of at first. We watched the show together and she had a good cry.

Well, we have doubled our fundraising goal. Thank you to everyone that donated. We are looking forward to this walk.

My Wife got her last treatment yesterday, she is completely done. She
had 12 rounds of Chemo and them 3 weeks of daily radiation. Her hair is
starting to grow back now, that's a big one for her.

I will be taking as many pics as I can at the event. Not sure how they
will turn out since it's at night. But I will post up a new thread with
pics after the walk.
