| Hey I'm Nafers. I'm relatively new to paintball, been playing the last 3 years, but just once a year. I'm planning on going several times this year and thus far have invested in a TPX pistol and an Alpha Black Tactical with an egrip. Ihaven't made the plunge to magfed or cyclone yet. Probably going to go with magfed, but I might ditch the egrip[ for a response trigger if I do that. I'm in the Chicago area dn am married with 3 kids. Here's a couple shots of me (ignore the pink castle in the background!! |

| What part of Chicagoland are you from? I'm on the NW side, right near O'Hare.
Which field(s) do you play? I spend most of my game time at Paintball Explosion, but I like seeing what each field has to offer.
Anyway... Welcome to the forum. You'll love it here! |

| I'm in the far northwest (Cary). ABout 15 mins from PBE. I'm supposed to head there tomorrow, but with the weather looking rough, I think I might take a raincheck. |

I know exactly where Cary is... My aunt lives up near the Cary Metra station. My buddy and I (and maybe a couple more friends) are headed to PBE on the 21st, if you're interested in coming out. Otherwise, maybe we'll run into you some time! |

| Nice! Guessing your position is at the chopper on Turmoil, probably firing towards the "dead box" side of the field over the ammo crates.
Anyway... I'm not going to be able to make it on the 29th, but we'll definitely have to meet up there sometime! |

| Yeah I'm not going to make it out probably again til may or June. Tough jugglling 3 kids a wife and a job.
That was actually on Nam, firing downhill from behind the chopper. That's when the day turned and we started having alot of people wipe paint. I emptied a hopped at 2 kids down behind a tree and I broke paint on each of them at least twice and they never went out.
They were training new refs yesterday, and they didn't look all that ecstatic to be there to be honest. Had a blast anyway.
I went pistol only the last 3 maps and I'm hooked on Pistol play now. |

| Yeah, sometimes the refs there don't seem to really want to ref.
Last time I was there I had to practically yell myself hoarse to get a ref to the chopper on Nam to have them enforce their own safety video rules. Kids were climbing ALL over inside the chopper, with one standing on the crates they had stacked inside and sticking his head out of the cockpit. Great cover, and great angles to keep us from advancing. Only problem is the no climbing rule.
Anyway... Pistol play is SO awesome, and a GREAT way to save on paint cost. I can buy a bag of paint and play the whole day without worry of running out.
As for wipers... I think it kinda comes with the turf... I've heard Paintball Explosion described as an amusement park inside of a paintball field. I think that's pretty accurate, and for that reason it does draw a lot of children. Some of them (usually the ones that latch on to the milsim guys) show great respect for the game when they're hit, and gladly walk off. But just as many are there to "prove" that they're awesome or whatever and can stay in until the end... *shrug*
It is what it is. |
