| Another topic that I think needs dicussed is what you are eating on the field.
Many people on the paintball field will make sure they drink plenty but they may forget about eating something. WHen I go out to play I tend to take things that can withstand the heat, things like granola bars, power bars, trail mix etc. They will provide engery and take the edge off of your hunger as well.
What I would recommend to stay away from is candy bars and the like, with a couple of exceptions which I will get to in a moment. The reason to stay away from this things is that most are loaded with sugar and are empty calories, they will make you feel ready to go but the energy will drop off fast snf your body will use up its stored energy and leave you even more drained. The exceptions to this in my opinion is the payday bar and peanut bar. They have more nutrtian value the most candy bars. Another thing that I try to stay away from on the field is choclate, face it it melts was too easy and who wants to grab something to eat only to have it cover your hand in a sticky mess.
There are many easy recieps on line for homemade energy bars and granola bars and such. You want something that will give you a bit of energy and take the edge off inbetween games.
A siplock baggie full of peanuts, sunflowers seeds or things like this work great as well. The biggest thing to remember is use common sense in picking food for the field, think of how it would handle the temp, how it will last in a pocket, is it just going to give you a sugar high and drop you down or help you keep going?
Enjoy and stay safe on the field.

| Pasta seems to be the way to go for me. Just like in the military, when you play paintball, you can burn up to 3000 to 4000 calaries in a day, depending on how long you play. I will usually make Spagetti with some Wheat Pasta the night before and take it with me when I play. The pasta will release plenty of calaries and it's easy to eat a little at a time all day.
Make sure you are eating throughout the day, not just at "lunch" time. This will keep you going strong all day, and give you an advantage over everyone else since you won't be as tired.

| Tuf, gave you rep, might have to bring some pasta sometime. The lines at the concession stand is long as hell at my field. | |

| Oh so like food people bring into battle? The closest thing I've seen (that I've eaten/seen in real life) were heater meals. They aren't bad,
Edit: I was wondering how you got them haha.

David - the point is to eat the pasta the night before. It is called Carbo-loading. Provides a ton of energey for game play the next day. When I used to run 1/2 marathons we would do the same thing. I dont want pasta the day of the event...it will weigh you down. What Gramps suggested is good for the continuation of the carbo-load. light but eay full of energy.

| Drinking too many Redbulls can really knack you up long term too. Ive read articles where they've given people heart attacks. Proteins are also a great food for paintballing. Chicken breasts, fish etc.. Like Tuf said....the day before you go...load up on fuel. Sugar based foods are ok for quick bursts of energy, but you'll crash soon after. Plus proteins are not only good body fuel, but great for muscle development & repair too. And yeah loading up on pasta the night before is a great idea & super easy too. Try n get some meat in there too though if you can.
Remember.......... Your body is the greatest instrument you'll EVER own, treat it well. Not like an amusement park.
